A containerisation terminal is due for completion at Port of Raahe in May 2012. The terminal offers new opportunities for export into Central Europe and further away. The terminal is the first of its kind in the Bay of Bothnia area.

The new deep-water quay in the Port of Raahe was inaugurated in October. The quay allows a draught of 10 metres. It has brought about considerable improvements in the transport services for industry and commerce.

Meca-Trade Oy took delivery of a new warehouse built by Best-Hall Oy at end of November. Meca-Trade Oy is Finland’s largest importer of ferro-alloys under Finnish ownership. It has a turnover of €25 million. The company has a subsidiary in Estonia and a sales branch in Sweden.
